LINUX GUITAR PRO UPDATE
Go head and update everything (should be around 1.31GB). So head over to "/opt/GuitarPro6/" and the file "GPUpdater" will work.
The updater in the upper left hand corner of GP will not work most of the time (minor bug).

One last thing, if you want any audio what-so-ever, you will have to install the soundbanks. But hopefully, all went as described in the tutorial above. If that does not work, you might try asking for help here and searching Ubuntu's packages again, like you previously did. If you see an error message stating that your're missing a shared library, try: sudo apt-get install :i386 To be sure, run the next two commands: cd /opt/GuitarPro6/ sh launcher.sh Guitar Pro 6 should now successfully be installed on your machine. Lastly, the following command will place the "/opt/" (the real "meat" of the program): sudo mv /home//Downloads/opt/GuitarPro6 /opt/ This next command will place the pixmaps file: sudo mv /home//Downloads/usr/share/pixmaps/guitarpro6.png /usr/share/pixmaps/ desktop file in your "/applications/" folder: sudo mv /home//Downloads/usr/share/applications/sktop /usr/share/applications/ Be sure to replace "" with your computer's username, without the brackets. Now we need to manually place each folder into the correct places. Then open the only folder there, "/./", it will contain two folders and two files.Įxtract "opt" and "usr" to your Downloads folder. Once opened, you should see three files, "", "", and "debian-binary". By the way, do not try to install it any other way than the way stated here. Open your "gp6.deb" file in Archive Manager. My (short) experience with it was filled to the brim with crashes, bugs, missing pieces, and aggravation. Not that I have anything against WINE, it's actually an extraordinarily amazing software, but when combined with Guitar Pro, it could stand to preform a "little bit" better. Guitar Pro, for some asinine reasoning (no hate intended for such a brilliant program), is only available in 32 bit architecture for Linux.
